Building a communications strategy.

During major construction efforts on campus, I’ve worked to keep staff, patients, and visitors informed.

At home in temporary spaces.

While our Birth Center undergoes construction, our team and service line has relocated to a temporary space. To improve the look of our interim spaces, and to improve morale for staff anxious about the move, I designed vinyl decals and worked with a vendor to install them.

Our team worried that due to the proximity of the interim Birth Center to our Acute Care and Transitional Care Units, patients might grow confused about which nursing station to visit and which area to find their loved one in. I created vinyl decals to distinguish each area and add extra color to both spaces.

Informed, every step of the way.

To keep our patients, staff, and visitors informed and connected, I wrote content for and designed a variety of pieces.

I crafted a handout given to our Birth Center patients, helping them understand what they could expect in our interim Birth Center, as well as the future, renovated space. Pull-up banners near our construction space provide context for patients walking past our renovations.

To keep staff excited about the upcoming projects, I coordinated two wall-breaking ceremonies - one in our future Birth Center space, and one in our future kitchen and dining areas. Staff received an FAQ with more information about each project, with a QR code to a designated SharePoint site I’ve created and maintained to keep staff informed about our construction projects, from timelines to status updates with photos of ongoing construction.

From rendering to reveal.

To keep our construction spaces alive with information and interest, I wrote content for and designed large posters that have been adhered to temporary construction walls. Patients, visitors, and employees walking past these spaces can check out renderings of what’s to come, and learn more about each area.
